Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor is a harvard educated neuroanatomist. One morning a blood vessel in her brain exploded, damaging her left brain. Within the space of four hours she lost the ability to walk, talk, read, write or remember her past. However, she was thrown into the world of right brain. She started experiencing the here and now and calls it nirvana.
There are various paths to reach the state of nirvana. I have come across the description of nirvana from the context of buddhism, sufism, zen, etc. This is the first time I heard a brain scientist talk about nirvana from the perspective of left brain, right brain function.
